We have a need to collaborate, which is shorthand to descibe the complex nature of skills that are needed to create the desired result. Existing paradigms fall short in motivating the interdisciplinary work required. Here we experiment with a new(ish) techniche based on feedback.
# Requirements
- The purpose of this technique is to motivate interdisciplinary collaboration.
- We require the technique to be substanitally new, as we seek to address and recognise historical failings.
- We seek to base the technique on non-monetary strategies. Our base should be sustainable.
- We aim to design this technique so that it can be built upon - that is used by a host of other derivative incentivee systems.
# Specification
We aim to build a simple reporting mechanism in wiki, that allows authors to generate views of another authors activity in terms of the Energy Contributed.
This report will be restricted for now to a weekly wiki-page, with links to any related data. We will provide the following intial metrics in this report:
- Page Report - since Monday - Emotive Visualisation (working title)
In addition, we wish to build on these reports to provide:
- Estimated Hours - since Monday - Future Wiki Metrics
# Audio interface
In this first stage of the project we do not seek to build detailed visual interfaces (see non-goals below), but are happy to create a set of microservices that use the existing features of wiki to present and interact with data. However we wish to add the ability to contribute reports in audio.
We see the following rough workflow:
Record audio => send to chat => AI transcription => AI summary => Create wiki page with embedded audio and links => Post message (with wiki-link) back to chat
Our aim is to make it as simple as humanely possible to make daily reports of effort expended so that it can be shared back to the group for tracking progress and accounting of value.
# Fun
A critical component of this methodology is the spirit of fun, and creative production. This is vital if we are to achieve the aim of sustainably collecting the data in voluntary, or non-cash motivated work environments. It is also essential to the nature of purpose-driven projects - people need to see where it is going, and how they are contributing to that journey.
This has important implications for the design of the interface, and the workflow. It is an essential requirement that there is not a work or office-like feel to the data collection. For those so inclined such an interface will of course be available, but for our purposes we aim to extend the range and nature of the contributors through creating a universal, flexible and fun interface.
# Non-goals
- We will not build a full, or complex accounting system. - We will not specify rigid, and immutable evaluation criteria for the reports. - We will not create surveys, or complex user data entry forms.
